Interpreting finds its voice

Check out the latest post from our friends at NAJIT.

Our own Michael Ferreira, California Federation of Interpreters president, and National Association of Judicial Interpreters and Translators Chairman Rob Cruz, delve into the future of the interpreting profession. Cruz delivered the keynote address at CFI’s annual conference this month in Los Angeles, discussing the state of the interpreting profession.

Katherine Allen, of InterpretAmerica writes in the post: “Both Cruz and Ferreira believe strongly in the need for wider and deeper collaboration among interpreting stakeholders of all kinds.” Such collaboration would bring more recognition and clout for the profession, the two leaders contend.

CFI, part of the Pacific Media Workers Guild, represents nearly 1,000 court interpreters in California.
