Final call for Guild leadership nominations!

Here are some final reminders about the close of the nomination period for unit and local leadership positions across the Pacific Media Workers Guild.

Unit council and local executive committee terms are two years, beginning Jan. 1, 2026.

The Executive Committee is comprised of representatives from across our local who support our membership at large. The EC has six elected positions: President, Vice President, VP of California, VP of Hawaii, Treasurer and Secretary.

Each unit (worksite) is supported by a Unit Council, comprised of at least three roles: Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary.

The nomination period will close at the General Membership meeting next Thursday, November 6th at 6 pm. Meeting agenda and zoom link can be found here: https://mediaworkers.org/events/november-guild-executive-committee-meeting/

We are hoping all members will attend.

All active dues-paying members in good standing can submit nominations.

You can volunteer for any of the positions mentioned above by nominating yourself, or you can nominate someone else. Each person who is nominated must accept the nomination, so it’s helpful to receive nominations prior to November 6th. Please fill out the form linked here to submit your nominations, if you haven’t already: https://forms.gle/jCNrQTzGkaR72nm89

Any position with only one nomination at the close of our membership meeting on November 6th will be deemed elected.

If there are two or more nominations for any position, the Local will conduct a mail ballot election in December, and we will announce more details about that in the future.

Please take a moment to consider getting involved in these important roles of representing yourself and your fellow colleagues.

For questions about the election process, please email Executive Officer Michael Applegate michael@mediaworkers.org.
