North Bay solidarity wins job protection

lifted, gathered outside the Santa Rosa newsroom as new contract terms took effect.

On November 8, the paper was bought by Sonoma Media Investments along with the Petaluma Argus-Courier and North Bay Business Journal. The same local ownership group bought the Sonoma Index-Tribune earlier this year.

Our members agreed to a 5% pay cut and pension changes in exchange for a 3-year no-layoff guarantee, expanded Guild jurisdiction … and the right to wear jeans again.
