After months of study and meetings, consultant Paul Krissel, a veteran union leader and adjunct faculty member at the UC Berkeley Labor Center, produced a thoughtful and detailed report about the history and current state of Local 39521.

We are in campaign season now – contested elections appear to be setting up for all the officer positions running the Media Workers Guild. Look elsewhere for details about all that.

Krissel’s report outlines some of the main challenges we face, including the sometimes strained relations between the journalists and court interpreters, which together make up the bulk of our membership. The report serves as excellent background for you to have as candidates make their pitches in weeks ahead.

Download the Krissel report and please share it with other members as we strive to build solidarity.
